You shall not murder (Part 1)

The Sixth Commandment primarily deals with the value of human life. Life comes from God alone and the Scriptures assert that God alone has the right to give and take life. In Christian belief the significance of human beings over all other species of animal life resides in the image of God (imago Dei) stamped on each human being. Even though all things are dependent for its existence upon God and God alone created all things, it still remains true that only the human race bear His likeness and they bear it from conception. Right at the outset of creation Scripture testifies to the fact that man was made in the image of God.
